Here's a plain offer, not a marketing device. I'm looking for one local business — sceptical of AI, or honestly just not sure what any of it means for you — to work with for free. A real Working Diagnosis, done properly, at no cost. In exchange, I write up exactly how it went, in public, on this site.
Partly, I genuinely want to find out if it's possible. Can a real sceptic actually be brought round by a plain, honest process — or does the scepticism turn out to be the right call for them, and this isn't worth it after all? I don't know the answer in advance, and a guaranteed win wouldn't tell me anything. I'd rather find out for real.
Partly, it's a straightforward give-back. A proper Working Diagnosis is real work — plenty of businesses this size would never budget for it, or wouldn't take the risk on something they're not sure about. Doing one for free is a way to hand that over to someone who'd probably never otherwise get the chance.
And partly, it's for me. What I actually want out of this is a genuine use case I couldn't have invented — a real bottleneck, in someone else's business, that becomes an honest proof of concept rather than a made-up example. That's worth more to me than the £199.

Sceptical is the whole point. If you already know exactly what AI can do for you and just need someone to build it, that's not this — that's the normal paid version. This slot is for someone who thinks it's probably hype, or doesn't really understand what an "agent" even is, or has been burned by an overhyped pitch before. If the free chat ends with me telling you honestly that you don't need any of this, that's a legitimate outcome too — and still worth writing up.
One slot, not an ongoing free tier — I still need this to be a business, not a hobby. No guarantee I'll build anything further after the diagnosis; that decision gets made the same way it would for a paying client, based on whether it's actually worth doing. And your name and business only go in the write-up if you're genuinely comfortable with that — happy to keep it anonymous if not, same as the client platform case study.
